Atithi is a story, a song and a riddle. It explores the nature and role of the unpredictable and the unexplained. The form and the theme of the work belong to the Upanishadic world, but the story and the idiom are contemporary. Each of the eleven cantos or doors is a sequence of poems/prose-poems/dialogues/diary entries/visions. The work is basically in English, but uses other voices to register the multilingual, multivocal identity of the city. read online |
